This week in our Science 3 -5 class we created the habitats for our special animals. We began with research on our animal and it’s specific habitat.
We wrote sentences to describe our habitats before we began creating. Together we designed the criteria that we would have to meet in order to make a successful habitat. The criteria included a title, our animal present in the habitat, an example of a plant that grows in the habitat, and a well decorated habitat.
We brought in shoeboxes from home and began making replicas of our animals habitat using the class developed criteria.
We used many different materials including rocks from the school yard, pipe cleaners, tissue paper, and pompoms. We worked really hard all week to make our habitats and boy do they ever look realistic!
